The Paravent Ambassade screen, designed by Cassina in collaboration with Ginori 1735 and Pernette Perriand-Barsac, is a beautiful indoor screen manufactured in Italy by Cassina. The design consists of a fir frame with MDF panel and honeycomb paper with a screen-printed decoration on both sides. The screen was originally designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1969 for the home of the Japanese ambassador to France. It was created to hide the door connecting the office to the salon de réception, a space that had a certain solemnity due to a large sofa over seven meters long. The Paravent Ambassade screen is a masterpiece of perseverance made from 313 hand-processed solid wood blocks, assembled one by one, held together by vertical tension rods, and separated by anchors. Charlotte Perriand's passion for Japan and its artisan heritage is evident in her design of the Paravent Ambassade screen. Her innovative furniture designs were a fresh take on the art de vivre of her time, infused with her multidisciplinary activities, including a key role in photography. The Le Monde de Charlotte Perriand collection, a collaboration between Cassina and Pernette Perriand-Barsac, Charlotte's daughter and founder of her mother's archives, embodies the designer's passion for observing nature in the smallest, most revealing details. Inspired by Perriand's photographs between 1933 and 1934, the collection includes hand-decorated porcelain dinnerware in three different designs that can be mixed or matched.
