The LC8 Siège tournant, tabouret stool is a part of the LC collection by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand, which was designed in 1927. Charlotte Perriand designed the swivel chair, which was the inspiration behind the stool. It was showcased at the 1929 Salon d'Automne as part of a collection co-designed with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. The stool's iconic and versatile shape comes from the need to rationalize serial production by using common elements. The stool features a trivalent chrome-plated steel frame with polyester padding and expanded CFC-free polyurethane foam. It is upholstered in leather or fabric. Cassina manufactures the stool in Italy and relaunched it in 1978. A stainless-steel outdoor version of the stool is also available, with a range of five textured colors and Catas certification. Charlotte Perriand designed furniture made of anodized aluminum and chromium-plated steel. She worked with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret until 1937.
