Charlotte Perriand’s 1959 Daybed has been re-launched in 2018 by Cassina in Italy. The daybed is a part of a replica of a student room in the Maison du Brésil at the University of Paris. The Brazilian government commissioned the design from the architect Lucio Costa, who brought in Le Corbusier on board, and then Charlotte Perriand to help with the interiors. The daybed comes with a matt finish natural oak frame with solid wood and veneered parts, perforated base, capitonné mattress in polyurethane foam, removable cover in fabric, and headboard in polyurethane foam. The actual color of the product may vary slightly from the images due to different screen capabilities. Charlotte Perriand is known for her contribution to interior composition that created a new way of living in the 20th century, and Cassina has manufactured iconic contemporary design pieces since the 1950s. Cassina continues to look to the future of design with an open, holistic approach for furnishings.
