cc-tapis has debuted the Les Arcs Collection, a collection of five new rug designs showcasing the previously unseen archives of French designer and architect Charlotte Perriand. The exhibition, curated by Dan Thawley, editor-in-chief of "A magazine curated by," presents six unpublished color studies originally intended for a series of woven panneaux ouvrants, now brought to life as a collection of hand-knotted rugs by cc-tapis. Named after the Pierre Blanche building at Les Arcs 1600 ski station in the French Alps, this project was the focus of 20 years of Perriand's life before being put on hold due to budgetary constraints. Over 50 years later, the Les Arcs Collection of rugs is now available in three sizes and 12 assorted shades, crafted from 100% Himalayan wool by cc-tapis artisans in Nepal to replicate the original designs. This collection is a tribute to Charlotte Perriand's lifelong passion for artisanal craft.
