The armchair, originally designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1947, has been relaunched in 2020 and is now being manufactured by Cassina in Italy. Perriand, who was a true lover of the mountains, designed the Doron Hotel armchair for the winter sports resort of Méribel Les Allues and for Hôtel Doron - one of the first chalet-hotels - in the same location. The French designer had a deep connection with nature and pioneered the use of natural materials in her projects, seeking to explore the relationship between man and his surroundings. The Doron Hotel armchair is comfortable, textural, and pleasant to the touch, and now comes in an outdoor version as well. It can be paired with Charlotte Perriand's Table à Plateau Interchangeable. Please note that the unique leather pattern and design on each chair will vary as each animal is unique. Actual colors may also vary due to differences in computer monitors, laptop screens, tablets, and phone screens. Cassina, the manufacturer of the armchair, has been revisiting 20th-century furnishing designs by renowned architects and designers, such as Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Their I Maestri collection revisits their iconic pieces using evolved technology, while preserving their functional concepts. Today, Cassina continues to lookout for the future of design with an open and holistic approach.
