The Table designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1952-1956 has been relaunched by Cassina in Italy. Originally included as one of the tables en forme libre created between 1938 and 1939, the final design was developed in 1952 for the students' rooms of the Maison du Mexique. The table features a frame designed to be compact, allowing for easy juxtaposition to create larger, symmetrical units. The wooden legs were replaced by triangular-section bent metal in 1952, and a low-level version was created in 1956. The table-top is available in solid wood or with a gloss or matte finish. The edges of the table were designed to reflect the size of the human hand. New dining versions have been added for 5 or 6 people, a new bar version, and two new heights for the low tables. The table comes in a range of finishes. It should be noted that images of the product may vary slightly in color due to differences in computer monitors. The designer of the table, Charlotte Perriand, was a prominent French designer who worked with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret until 1937. Cassina, the manufacturer of the table, has a range of iconic pieces of contemporary design and has created the I Maestri collection, revisiting furnishing designs by the twentieth century's best-known architects.
