This side table, originally designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1911 and manufactured by BD around 1970, is crafted from solid beechwood and finished in a sleek white lacquer. Despite minor signs of wear in keeping with its age, the table retains a charming patina that echoes Mackintosh's enduring influence in European design. A prominent figure in the Post-Impressionist movement and an advocate for Art Nouveau, Mackintosh was born in Glasgow and passed away in London. He was awarded the Alexander Thomson Travelling Studentship in 1890, which fueled his passion for classic architecture. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City held a comprehensive retrospective exhibition of Mackintosh's work, including lectures and film screenings, in November 1996 to February 1997.
