Initially created as a street lamp for the "Glasgow School of Art", this particular lamp reflects a strong Viennese influence, as Mackintosh showcased his work in 1900 at the Viennese Secession with his wife, Margaret MacDonald, under the guidance of Josef Hoffmann. This exhibition highlighted the "New Style" and served as a platform for Mackintosh to receive international acclaim. In crafting this lamp, Mackintosh moved away from his previous floral motifs and instead embraced Hoffmann's renowned clean and cubistic aesthetic - take a look at Hoffmann's first cubistic sculpture from 1902 for reference! The lamp components are mostly in accordance with UL regulations, and we do offer UL-listed and labelled fixtures for an additional cost. Additionally, this lamp is also available as a stunning table lamp.
