Initially created as a street lamp for the "Glasgow School of Art", this particular design boasts a significant Viennese influence. In fact, in 1900 Mackintosh and his wife Margaret MacDonald exhibited at the Viennese Secession, curated by Josef Hoffmann, where the "New Style" was first presented. It was at this exhibition where Mackintosh received international recognition. With this particular lamp, Mackintosh moved away from the floral touches seen in his prior works and instead embraced a clear and cubistic line, which was synonymous with the style of Josef Hoffmann. It's worth noting that, in fact, Hoffmann himself designed the first cubistic sculpture in 1902. The lamp itself is crafted from brass and adheres to most of the UL regulations. For an additional charge, we can UL-list and label the fixtures.
