These Pollock chairs are being sold as a pair and boast a striking color and fabric combination that exudes coolness. The blue velour looks authentic and is in impeccable condition, while the chrome edge band adds a touch of elegance. Swivelling 360 degrees and adjustable for both tilt and height, the chairs retain their original hang tags and operation instructions. First created in 1963 by Charles Pollock, the timeless design is still being produced by Knoll today in various finishes. The Pollock chair features a single aluminum band around its perimeter, a technology which Pollock called "rim technology" and which holds the chair together both structurally and visually. Originally introduced in 1965, the chair's elegant design is still highly sought-after half a century later. Charles Pollock is a talented designer who worked for George Nelson after graduating from Pratt Institute. He presented his portfolio to Florence Knoll in the early 1960s and went on to design various collections for her, including the 1250 series executive collection, which incorporated his unique rim technology.
