Rarely seen on the market, this Eames wall unit from 1961 is a true gem. The ECS model was only produced for a limited time, making this piece a unique find. The unit is divided into three sections: a fold-down bed on the right, a desk with shelves in the middle, and a storage closet on the left. When the bed is lowered, a reading light and shelf are revealed, while the desk features a pull-out drawer and a file bin in the back. The right-hand shelves have mounted outlets, and the closet has a light above the mirror, as well as six sliding bins with wire baskets and three fixed wire racks. Designed with convenience and care in mind, this wall-mounted unit hovers above the floor and allows for proper ventilation thanks to the gap in the back and wire shelves. With its combination of simplicity, functionality, and beauty, this unit is a true Eames classic. Measuring 111" in width, 25" in depth, and 86" in height, it's a perfect complement to the George Nelson CSS Unit, also produced by Herman Miller.
