We are thrilled to present for sale a truly exceptional and rare Herman Miller No1 lounge armchair and ottoman from the 1960s, in its original lightly restored condition. This iconic and widely recognized suite has been exhibited in countless venues, including the V&A and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and has won numerous awards, making it a true masterpiece. The black leather and Rosewood lounge armchair and ottoman still feature their original leather finish, which has aged beautifully over time. The frame is taut and has a unique natural flex, making it incredibly comfortable to sit in. The restoration has been impeccably done, ensuring the original charm and patina remain intact, but also showcasing the suite in a gallery-ready state. While there are age and use-related patina marks, it is in excellent condition overall. The armchair dimensions are: Height: 81cm, Width: 84cm, Depth: 85.5cm, and Seat height: 43cm. The ottoman dimensions are: Height: 44cm, Width: 66cm, and Depth: 54cm. Please note that all measurements are taken at the widest point.
