The Herman Miller-produced Eames Lounge Chair is classified as a second-generation model due to its cushions being filled with a blend of feather down and latex. Unlike the foam cushions used in chairs manufactured after 1971, the feather and latex cushions are immensely comfortable and take on a beautifully wrinkled aesthetic as originally intended by Charles and Ray, the designers. This chair in excellent condition is a remarkable example of a hard-to-find vintage model with its original parts and mild signs of wear. While there are minor age-related marks and nicks on the leather cushions, they are in good vintage condition, free of cracks or tears; there is a barely noticeable glued closure at the back of the seat cushion where a split zip seam once occurred. The interior of the chair is also veneered in Rosewood, a desirable feature that not all Eames Lounge Chairs from this era possess. This particular chair was produced during the mid to late 1960s and is sold without the ottoman. To sum up, vintage chairs like this one are vastly superior to the present-day models, in our opinion.
