The Herman Miller furniture company commissioned Charles and Ray Eames to create the Eames Lounge and Ottoman, which are pieces of furniture composed of molded plywood and leather. Released in 1956, after an extended period of development, this furniture set marked the Eameses’ first venture into designing for a higher-end market. The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman are now part of the permanent display at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. Regarding their present condition, these vintage furnishings are in good overall shape, although there is some evidence of minor leather wear and flattened cushions, which still remain comfortable. The dimensions of the chair measure 82cm in height, 83cm in width, and 83cm in depth, while the seat height is 38cm.
