This wine is only produced in outstanding vintage years. Critic tasting note: "This is Catena’s classic blend of malbec and cabernet; traditionally, the latter has come from Agrelo, and the former, from high-altitude vineyards, primarily in Adrianna. The first vintage of this wine was the 1997, and since then it has followed the formula of blending vineyards from warmer and cooler zones. This year, it’s 87% cabernet sauvignon from Agrelo and, according to winemaker Alejandro VIgil, they wanted to overcome their fear of vegetal notes and show their cabernet’s DNA. And the idea works very well, because those herbal notes are surrounded by red fruit with a deliciously juicy finish.
