Critic tasting note: "This vintage of Caro is 76% malbec and 24% cabernet sauvignon, all from vineyards in the Altamira zone, some 1,200 meters above sea level in the Uco Valley. The vineyards are about 18 years old and planted on stony soils high in calcium carbonate. The wine was aged for about 18 months in oak barrels. The expression of this wine is a bit timid at first, but with a little time on the palate, or, if you prefer, after being decanted, it shows a delicious layer of red fruits and herbs in the midst of a medium body with tremendous juiciness and firm tannins that reveal that it still needs at least four to five years in the bottle.
