Carlo Scarpa, the renowned Italian architect and designer, created the "Quatour" dining table model in 1974. Manufactured by Simon Gavina, this stunning table is made of rich walnut wood and measures 141 cm x 141 cm x 72 H cm. A sought-after piece, it has been featured in design literature such as Giuliana Gramigna's "Repertorio 1950/1980" and Virgilio Vercelloni's "The Adventure of Design: Gavina". Scarpa's design expertise is evident in this piece, which was originally part of his Metamobile project, a line of simple, affordable furniture. Scarpa's career was a varied one, encompassing architecture, interior design, and exhibition installations. He was known for his sensitivity to changing times and influences, and his work can be seen across Italy, as well as in Canada, the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and France. Scarpa passed away in 1978 and is buried in his renowned Brion Tomb complex in the San VIto d'Altivole cemetery, considered by some to be his greatest work.
