The Model 795 bookshelf, also known as the "Serie 1935" or "Liberia 1935," is more than just a bookcase - it's a stunning architectural masterpiece that draws attention in any space. Designed by Italian architect and designer Carlo Scarpa for his own home in Venice in 1935, it exudes the artisanal charm and elegance of a true master of Italian architecture. The bookshelf features adjustable height enameled metal upright supports and natural walnut modular shelves with varying depths, ranging from deepest at the bottom to shallower towards the top. It can be used against a wall or as a room divider. Scarpa was an esteemed artist who served as artistic consultant for Venini glassworks and crafted some of the most original Murano glass in Italian design history. His architecture, known for its focus on materials, attention to detail, and admiration for Frank Lloyd Wright's work, can be seen in countless projects throughout Italy. This vintage bookcase is in excellent condition and was stored in its original packaging until only recently being assembled for photos. With measurements of 81" x 20" x 98" (with adjustable height) and a range of shelf depths from 14" to 9.75", this bookshelf is truly a remarkable piece.
