In the 1950s, Venini released the exquisite "Poliedri" model lamps designed by Carlo Scarpa, featuring a lacquered metal structure and Murano glass craftsmanship. Scarpa, who was born in Venice in 1906 and spent most of his life in the Veneto region, gained experience in local planning offices while studying at the fine arts academy in 1919. In 1925, he received his diploma and first personal commission from Giacomo Cappellin, leading to his introduction to glassmaking and subsequent design work for MVM Cappellin. Scarpa later served as artistic director for Venini for 15 years, showcasing his talent in the stunning "Poliedri" lamps.
