The Scuderia dining table, designed by Carlo Scarpa for the restoration of the stable at VIlla Valmarana in VIcenza in 1972, was produced by the Italian manufacturer Bernini in 1977. Made with a solid walnut structure, this table is in excellent vintage condition. The same furniture series also includes the five Kentucky dining chairs. Carlo Scarpa, born in Venice in 1906, began his career at a young age and worked for Murano glassmakers before accepting his first significant commission for the renovation of Venice's Ca' Foscari in the 1930s. His works include various museum layouts and building designs, furnishings, and renovations in different parts of Italy, demonstrating his remarkable skill in architectural and applied arts. He also collaborated with Gavina SpA and SIMON to produce mass-produced furniture, including the Scuderia dining table and a series of other tables, chairs, and bookcases.
