This is a rare lattimo velato vase designed by Carlo Scarpa circa 1936 and produced by Venini Murano Venice in the 1930s. The vase is made of thin milky glass and features fine horizontal grinding. It bears the acid-etched signature "venini murano ITALIA" on the base, as well as a Venini Museo label on the body. The piece was acquired directly from the Venini collection in the 1990s and is Venini model number 3607. Scarpa's velati series was first showcased at the Bienale of Venice and Trienale of Milan in 1940. This vase measures 5.12" (13 cm) in height and 4.33" (11 cm) in diameter. It is referenced in several publications including Carlo Scarpa Venini 1932 - 1947 by Marino Barovier, Venini Glass Volume 2 by Franco Deboni, and Venetian Glasses by Tiziana Casagrande and Ferruccio Franzoia.
