Carlo Scarpa's '765' dining chairs, crafted in 1977 from a 1934 design, exude elegance with their well-proportioned structure. Originally crafted exclusively for Scarpa's own abode in Venice, these chairs feature an organic backrest that contrasts with the straight-line base, creating a unique visual appeal. Noteworthy is the open-cut detail at the back, which diverges at the base and accentuates the chairs' unconventional yet authentic form. As an Italian architect and designer, Scarpa gained prominence for his attention to materiality and detailing, as well as his collaborations with master glass workers in Murano. Though his life was cut short by a tragic fall in 1978, Scarpa's legacy lives on through his breathtaking designs.
