The Austin 3-Litre was a luxury car produced by British automaker Austin from 1967 to 1971. It was designed as a replacement for the aging Austin A110 Westminster and was intended to compete with other luxury cars of the era, such as the Rover P6 and Triumph 2000. The 3-Litre was powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produced 124 horsepower and was paired with a 4-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. It featured a stylish body design with a long hood and short deck and a luxurious interior with wood trim and plush carpeting. The 3-Litre was equipped with power steering and power brakes, as well as fully independent suspension and disc brakes all around, making it a comfortable and capable cruising car. Although it received some critical acclaim for its design and engineering, the 3-Litre ultimately failed to capture a significant market share due to its high price and limited appeal. Today, the Austin 3-Litre is a rare and sought-after collector's car, prized for its distinctive styling and excellent driving experience.
