Arne Jacobson designed the iconic Grand Prix chairs for Danish company Fritz Hansen in the 1950s. These chairs, upholstered in vibrant orange leatherette, are in excellent vintage condition despite some minor holes and small tears which are hardly noticeable from a standing position. The Grand Prix chair was first introduced at the Designers' Spring Exhibition in 1957 and was later awarded the Grand Prix at the Triennale in Milan the same year. Arne Jacobson was known for his ahead-of-the-times sensibilities, as evident even from his childhood when he painted his room entirely white, a trend that was not yet in fashion during that era.
