This unique desk is truly a remarkable piece of design and history. It was designed by architect and designer Arne Jacobsen and executed by master cabinetmaker Jørgen Wolff Møbelsnedkeri in 1961. Crafted from wengé, wengé veneer, and chromium-plated steel, the desk features modern materials similar to those used in the iconic SAS Hotel in Copenhagen, also designed and furnished by Arne Jacobsen in 1960. The reverse of the drawer bears the cabinetmaker's paper label, Jørgen Wolff Møbelsnedkeri, and is dated Nov 1961. Acquired from the original Atrium house by Bellevue, the desk was from no. 415B, which was the late estate of Adda Leerbach and Erling Olsen, former Minister of Housing. It was part of the interior that had been left virtually unchanged for over 50 years. The desk is in excellent vintage condition and is a prized collector's item.
