This is a pair of vintage black stairs from the Scandinavian Modern collection, originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1952 and produced for Fitz Hansen in Denmark in 1970. The set is marked underneath and comprises two stacking chairs with tube steel bases and black stained plywood seat and backrest. Despite some signs of age on the steel bases, the chairs are in very good vintage condition, with the plywood seats having been expertly refinished. Measuring 49cm in width, 46cm in depth, 76cm in height, and with a seat height of 44cm, these chairs represent a sleek and stylish addition to any interior.
