The Oxford chair's design, created in 1965, is based on a previous chair design by Arne Jacobsen for St. Catherine's College in Oxford during the early 1960s. Fritz Hansen unveiled this renowned office chair at the Fredericia furniture fair the year after the university college's opening. Recently, this Danish auction house chair has been attributed to Arne Jacobsen and boasts a steel base, which is one of his earliest models and incredibly scarce. Although it was initially white, the chair now showcases a beautiful olive green color after being recolored.
