Born and raised in Copenhagen, Arne Jacobsen graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the same city in 1927. He began his career at the office of the city architect of Copenhagen before establishing his own office just two years later. As a renowned Danish modernistic architect, Jacobsen has created numerous buildings in Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This particular fixture emits a downward directed light and allows for adjustment of the shade angle and rotation to optimize light distribution. The white-painted interior of the shade ensures a soft and comfortable light. Made from spun steel and spun aluminum, the light source uses a G16.5 bulb with a power of 10W, but the bulb itself is not included.
