Arne Jacobsen hailed from Copenhagen and completed his education in architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1927. Right after, he landed his first job at the City Architect of Copenhagen and eventually set up his own practice just two years later. Recognized worldwide as a prominent Danish modernist architect, Jacobsen has designed countless buildings in Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This lighting fixture provides a downward beam of light and the shade's angle can be adjusted to optimize its distribution. The inside of the shade is painted white in order to produce a soft and comfortable light. Made from durable die-cast zinc and spun steel, this fixture employs a 15W light source and uses A-19 bulbs, which are not included. Its voltage is 120V in white and black.
