Born and raised in Copenhagen, Arne Jacobsen graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1927. Soon after, he secured a job at the office of the City Architect of Copenhagen and later started his own firm just two years later. Widely renowned as a Danish modernistic architect, Jacobsen's impressive portfolio includes numerous buildings in Denmark, Germany and the United Kingdom. This lighting fixture emits light in a downward direction and features an adjustable shade angle to optimize light distribution. The inside of the shade is painted white to ensure a soft and comfortable light. Constructed from die-cast zinc and spun steel, this fixture requires a 15W bulb (type A-19) which is not included. It operates on a voltage of 120V and is available in both white and black.
