Born and raised in Copenhagen, Arne Jacobsen graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1927. He went on to secure his first job at the City Architect of Copenhagen's office and only established his own architectural firm two years later. Today, Jacobsen is a renowned Danish modernist architect, with numerous buildings to his name in Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This fixture emits light that is directed downwards, with the angle of the shade adjustable to optimize light distribution. The interior of the shade is painted white to ensure that the emitted light is soft and comfortable. Made from die-cast zinc and spun steel, this fixture requires a 15W light source of the A-19 bulb type, which is not included with purchase. It operates on 120V, and is available in both white and black.
