Arne Jacobsen, a Danish architect ahead of his time, was celebrated for his visionary and progressive designs. He gained admission to the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts between 1924 and 1927. Shortly after graduating in 1929, the young Jacobsen won first prize for his state-of-the-art concept, "The House of the Future," showcased at an exhibition by the Academic Association of Architects. This ultra-modern house, the pioneer of modernist architecture in Denmark, was constructed in full size for the exhibition. Among his famous designs is the iconic Paris Armchair, which he created in 1929 for the Kurvemagerforeningen competition, and was showcased in the interior design of the House of the Future. The Paris lounge chair, alternatively called the Chair of the Future, the Snail, and the Parisian chair, was produced by Robert W., a pioneer in rattan furniture manufacturing, until World War II.
