Arne Jacobsen created the AJ Eklipta for Louis Poulsen back in 1959 originally for the Rødovre Town Hall. This fixture served as both indoor stairway lighting and outdoor wall lamps. With a design that emits a soft and cozy light, the opal glass shade has a transparent edge that creates a decorative halo of light around the fixture. It is UL rated for wet locations. Today, the AJ Eklipta is widely used in a variety of architectural designs worldwide and is available in three different sizes: 8.7 in., 13.7 in., and 17.7 in. incandescent or LED options. This listing is for the 13.7 in. size and has a UL wet location listing. It can handle a single 60 w max standard socket bulb. The price is per item. Arne Jacobsen, a Copenhagen native, graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1927 before starting his own office just two years later. He is not only a world-renowned Danish modernistic architect but also a designer in various fields such as lighting, furniture, cutlery, door handles, fabrics and wallpaper patterns, and sanitary fixtures. Some of his most well-known pieces include The Egg and The Swan chairs. The in-stock lead time is 2-3 weeks, while out of stock items can take 6 weeks or more. All fixtures are new in box from Louis Poulsen and come with a full warranty and "Certificate of Authenticity" that must be shipped directly from Louis Poulsen.
