Louis Poulsen's AJ Table in Ocher Yellow is a stunning design by Arne Jacobsen that was first created in 1957 and is still in current production today. As part of the renowned AJ family, this table is emblematic of Jacobsen's most iconic work that is celebrated across the globe. Originally, the AJ collection consisted of a range of lighting fixtures, including a table and floor lamp, as well as wall, small table, and desk lamps. The stainless steel wall lamp was specifically arranged in beautiful formations in the hotel lobby of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, where it was introduced in 1960, alongside the impressive AJ Royal pendant. Jacobsen was not only responsible for designing the hotel's architectural plans but also contributed to the creation of its furniture and other utilities. The AJ Lamp's geometric profile perfectly mirrored the architect's inspiration for his buildings and furniture design, with its combination of oblique and straight lines that echoed the lines of the iconic Series 3300 seats. Originally, the AJ Lamp was only available in light grey, dark brown, and black, with copper and stainless steel finishes exclusively used for the SAS Royal Hotel. In honor of the AJ series' anniversaries over the years, new colors have been introduced, with the stunning Ocher Yellow being one of the most recent additions. Furthermore, in 2020, a mini version of the AJ Table was launched, which is perfect for use in a variety of settings, from windowsills to bedside tables, or in combination with other furniture items. Louis Poulsen's reintroduction of all AJ Lamp fixtures in the original stainless steel version has also been a welcomed addition to the series, highlighting Jacobsen's minimalist and distinctive design and underscoring the lamp's timeless appeal and flawless emission of light.
