Louis Poulsen's AJ Royal pendant in black, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1960 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, exudes sophistication and style. This iconic piece follows Jacobsen's geometric shape concept, boasting a simple yet complex spherical dome shape with circular ringed louvers on top that provide a gentle glow while maintaining a clean, domed shape. Made from black wet painted spun aluminum shade, steel rings, and frosted acrylic diffuser, this pendant includes 12 feet of black textile cord with a black ceiling canopy and 16W LED/2700K. It is an authorized re-edition, new in the box with a factory warranty, and UL listed for damp locations. Available in unlimited quantities, the pendant comes in black or white in three sizes (9.8", 14.6", 19.7" diameter) and is characterized by the iconic ridges on top that allow for gentle upward light. Arne Jacobsen, a world-renowned Danish modernistic architect and designer, was born and raised in Copenhagen and graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen in 1927. He ventured into various fields related to his work, including lighting, furniture, cutlery, door handles, sanitary fixtures, fabrics, and wallpaper patterns, and has left his mark on the design world with iconic pieces like "The Egg" and "The Swan" chairs.
