Louis Poulsen's AJ Oxford Table Lamp in black and opaline, designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1963 for St Catherine's College in Oxford, boasts a sleek and contemporary aesthetic that reflects the building's modernist architecture. Originally intended to be used in the college's dining hall, which could accommodate 350 people and was furnished with long oak tables, the table lamps provided a stunning centrepiece for the tables while the AJ Eklipta mounted on the walls supplied diffuse general lighting. Even though the college is still in use today, the AJ Oxford Table Lamp is still available for those looking to add a timeless touch to their interior decor. This table lamp features a thin stem that blends seamlessly into its circular base, reminiscent of the AJ lamp collection. It comes in a few different options, including versions with or without a metal top shade, as well as two heights. The smaller version fits comfortably on a shelf or windowsill, while the taller one can also be used as a pin table lamp, staying true to Arne Jacobsen's original design.
