This vintage 'Egg' chair by Arne Jacobsen, made in black leather, is an early production piece from 1958 by Fritz Hansen. It is signed on the leather with the FH stamp and partial Danish Control label, typical of the first few years of production. The chair has undergone expert upholstery restoration to replace the foam in certain areas, retaining its original leather and beautiful patina. Additionally, the seat appears to be an integrated seat cushion model from before the addition of a separate seat cushion. A new seat cushion in aged black leather has been added as an option. This iconic chair cradles and supports the body in either conversation or privacy and is a quintessentially iconic Mid-Century Modern piece that would work great in contemporary or Postmodern rooms as well. This chair is in ideal collectors' condition and perfect for virtually any setting. Its measurements are H 42" x W 34" x D 31", and it has a seat height of 16" and a seat depth of 20.5".
