Angelo Mangiarotti, a renowned Italian designer and architect, specialized in the industrial process and design production. His philosophy emphasized the importance of technique and manner, and he became well-known for never losing sight of the practical needs of users. Following his graduation from the Architecture School of Politecnico di Milano in 1948, Mangiarotti moved to the U.S. in 1953, where he served as a visiting professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology. There, he had the opportunity to interact with influential architects and designers such as Konrad Wachsmann, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Walter Gropius. Returning to Italy in 1955, Mangiarotti launched his own firm together with Bruno Morassutti. Although their partnership lasted until the 1960s, Mangiarotti continued to teach at various academic institutions around the world. Today, Angelo Mangiarotti's tables, lighting, and decorative objects remain highly sought after.
