This white Carrara marble side table is a part of the Eros series and was created by Angelo Mangiarotti for Skipper in Italy in 1971. Its stunning surface features subtle veining, enhancing its organic aesthetic. Mangiarotti was an Italian architect and industrial designer focused on fulfilling the real needs of users through the correct use of matter and technique. This side table showcases an innovative design with a gravity interlocking method, eliminating the need for joints. The heavy side tabletop fits securely into the truncated conical base through its weight. The interlocking solution's male-female coupling is represented by the term 'Eros.' It is a beautiful and intelligent example of Mangiarotti's furniture design without joints.
