Angelo Mangiarotti, an Italian designer and architect, prioritized industrial process and design production throughout his career. He strongly believed in utilizing proper techniques and methods while keeping the real needs of users in mind. Graduating from the Architecture School of Politecnico di Milano in 1948, Mangiarotti moved to the U.S. in 1953 and served as a visiting professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology. During his time there, he met noted architects such as Konrad Wachsmann, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Walter Gropius. Following his return to Italy in 1955, Mangiarotti established his own firm in Milan with Bruno Morassutti, which continued until the 1960s. He later taught at various academic institutions around the world. Today, Angelo Mangiarotti's tables, lighting, and decorative objects remain popular.
