Angelo Mangiarotti, a notable Italian architect and designer, was born in Milan in 1921. He completed his architecture studies at the Politecnico of Milan in 1948. During a brief stint in the United States, he had the opportunity to meet prominent figures in the field such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius, and Mies van der Rohe, who played a pivotal role in shaping his artistic vision and style. Displayed here is a wooden commode, crafted by Angelo Mangiarotti for Sorgente del Mobile in the 1960s. The piece features three small drawers located just below the smooth surface, as well as three doors that open to reveal ample storage space for larger items (despite the compact shelf inside). Although it shows signs of age, its overall condition is good and it retains its originality in a pleasant manner.
