This distinctive pendant light is affectionately referred to as the "Hand Grenade" due to its unique shape. Produced by Louis Poulsen in Denmark during the 1950s or 1960s, this vintage lamp, known as the A110, emits a warm-toned light thanks to its polished brass interior. Direct light is cast downwards while indirect light illuminates the ceiling. The A110 was originally designed by Alvar Aalto for the Finnish Engineers' Association building in 1952, as he believed in creating a complete work of art down to the furniture and light fixtures. The lamp has been rewired and comes with its original E27 light fitting and painted brass ceiling hide. A page from the Poulsen catalogue of 1967 can be seen in the last image.
