This pair of Alvar Aalto Scandinavian modern chairs, model 66, are a vintage and authentic find from Finland in the 1930s. Crafted from lacquered birch and boasting a stylish red laminate seat, their minimalistic design exudes an air of sophistication. These iconic stacking chairs were featured in two Austrian exhibitions about Alvar Aalto, the first in 1982 and the second in 2002 at Möbel Hofmobiliendepot. Their birchwood frames have a warm brown patina, while the red laminate seat adds a pop of bold color. The L-shaped legs are also characteristic of Alvar Aalto's design signature. These chairs show signs of use, including scratches, abrasions, and stains, but these only add to their charm. Regardless of the surrounding environment, whether contemporary, mid-century, or traditional, this timeless duo would make a beautiful addition. The chairs have been sourced from a co-designer and expert who loaned them for the exhibitions. The approximate measurements are 45 cm in depth, 41 cm in width, 77.3 cm in height, and 44.5 cm in seat height. For further information, reference Alvar Aalto's book entitled "Die Sammlung Kossdorf" as part of the Museen d. Hofmobiliendepot publication series.
