The Savoy vase, also known as model 3031 and designed by Alvar Aalto, was created in 1956 by IIttala through the process of still-blowing into a wooden mould. The vase displays exquisite detailing on the glass, attributed to the use of a wood mould during the production process. It is engraved with "Alvar Aalto IIttala 56". With its sizable dimensions, the vase boasts an impressive presence. Comparable vases can be found in the Alvar & Aino Aalto Design Collection Bischofberger literature on page 217.
