The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a two-door sports coupe that was produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1970 to 1977. It was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, and was named after the city of Montreal, Canada, where it was first exhibited at the Expo 67 World's Fair. The Montreal was powered by a 2.6-liter V8 engine that produced 200 horsepower, and was paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It had a top speed of 137 miles per hour, and could accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 7.3 seconds. The exterior of the Montreal featured sharp lines and angular shapes, with distinctive pop-up headlamps and a diagonal hood bulge. The interior was sporty and stylish, with a unique instrument panel and a three-spoke steering wheel. Standard features on the Montreal included power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and independent suspension. Optional features included air conditioning and a limited-slip differential. The Alfa Romeo Montreal was a limited-production model, with only 3,925 units produced over its seven-year production run. It has since become a highly sought-after classic car, prized for its unique design and performance.
