The GLINT x Nike Air Max 1, considered one of the most coveted Air Max Ones ever, was launched on February 11th, 2005, in NYC's Madison and 61st corner via Barneys New York. Designed by Paul Budnitz and Chad Phillips of GLINT, the shoes matched the Kidrobot Maserati Quattroporte III Royal of 1986. Each pair of the Kidrobot AM1 had a special Kidrobot-branded gold and pink box that had a Kidrobot mini-keychain. Furthermore, a unique insole came with every Kidrobot Nike Air Max, inside a signature Kidrobot foil bag. Five hidden insoles, each distinct from the other, were made, and only one was present in each pair, which made it a delightful surprise to owners. The Kidrobot AM1 featured a top-of-the-line full-grain, black leather upper, decorated with a beige overlay on the midfoot, complemented by hot pink eyestays, laces, and sock liner. A classic gum outsole completed the Kidrobot Air Max 1s, coupled with GLINT branded stock insoles that differed from those in the foil packaging. Despite the even more exclusive 'Friend & Family' version, the Kidrobot x Nike Air Max 1, which initially retailed at $150, now commands 20 times its original retail price.
