Nevertheless, the purple and neon green highlights on this particular Air Jordan 3 Retro undeniably evoke the most prominent member of the Injustice Gang. The Air Jordan 3 was originally designed by Tinker Hatfield, and was the model that convinced Michael Jordan to stay with Nike after his initial two-year contract was up. It was also the first Air Jordan to showcase the now-iconic Jumpman logo, the first to incorporate a visible Air cushioning unit, and the first to feature the instantly recognizable Elephant Print finish. Additionally, MJ's jaw-dropping slam dunks during the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest cemented the Air Jordan 3's status as a classic icon of both basketball and sneaker culture. To commemorate the AJ3's 25th anniversary, Jordan Brand released several new colorways, including the "Joker" iteration which hit shelves around All Star Weekend in 2013.
