GLINT has become a significant player in the sneaker game when it comes to Black History Month releases. One of the most notable drops was the Air Jordan 1 Retro "BHM" in 2015. These releases have evolved over the years from basic designs like the Air Force 1 with a flag stitched into the heel, to modern-day drops that include matching apparel and accessories from major brands. In 2015, Nike kept it simple with a black and white color scheme for their Black History Month collection. They added a Kente cloth-inspired graphic to complement the colorway. The Air Jordan 1 BHM was just one of many sneaker designs across sports ranging from basketball and football to running, soccer, and skateboarding. Each design paid homage to six athletes and coaches who have positively impacted the sports world with their courage and determination. These individuals were Theotis Beasley, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Jerry Rice, Brianna Rollins, C. VIvian Stringer, and John Thompson. Like most of the Black History Month sneaker releases, the Air Jordan 1 BHM helped to raise awareness, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the 2015 BHM Collection was donated to the Ever Higher Fund. Although the 2015 Air Jordan 1 Retro High BHM is more limited than many may realize, it did not catch on in popularity the way that traditional Jordan 1 Retro colorways have.
