The "Soriana" lounge chairs for Cassina, crafted by Tobia and Afra Scarpa in 1969, have become an iconic piece associated with the 1970s. The chairs exude a sense of relaxation with its low profile and molded curves. Its primary highlight, however, is the sleek chromed steel structure. The external steel in rod maintains the cover's tautness and allows it to fold in the points where it descends along the sides and back, held by buttons attached to the seat. The metal parts form a "T" shape, securely embracing the seat and enclosing the polyurethane filter. The Soriana received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 1970. The set of two chairs is in excellent condition, having undergone restoration and reupholstery in black leather.
