The "Soriana" living room set designed by Tobia and Afra Scarpa for Cassina in 1969 is a classic of the 1970s design era. This set, featuring a three-seater sofa and two lounge chairs, boasts black leather upholstery that has been meticulously restored and reupholstered by our atelier. The low design of the set invites one to sink into its curves while its Minimalist structure in chromed steel provides a striking contrast. The external structure in steel rod is designed to keep the cover taut using buttons, allowing it to curl in the points where it folds and descend along the sides and back. The T-shaped metal parts embrace the seat and enclose the polyurethane filter creating a firm hold. The "Soriana" set won the esteemed Compasso d'Oro prize in 1970. Tobia Scarpa and Afra Bianchin began their collaboration in 1957, and their innovative creations can be found in museums around the world. This set is ready to be enjoyed or can be reupholstered in any desired material. Our atelier would be delighted to customize the finishing and composition of the set according to your preferences. Measurements for the chairs and sofa are available, and slight signs of use and time only add to the charm of this iconic set.
